Format: 75 cl bottle

Vinification: The grapes are harvested in crates, followed by a gentle and gradual pressing of the bunches, with separation of the must and alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature.

Aging: Batonnage until the base is ready in the spring following the harvest, followed by a second fermentation in the bottle. The wine then ages in stacks for at least 30 months, where it evolves and matures thanks to the lysis of the yeasts.

The Cortenera winery is located in the heart of the Veneto region , between the provinces of Vicenza and Verona , in the volcanic territory of Gambellara.

The Ferrari family has had ties to Gambellara since the 1400s , cultivating vines and olives. From the Monticello slopes, they moved to Monte San Marco, selecting and cultivating the valley.

And it is here, in 2012 , that Gianluca Ferrari surprises Vicenza with the creation of a new cutting-edge cellar: underground and hexagonal, it is a tribute to the features of columnar basalt.

Cortenera is a young and innovative wine made from Garganega and Durella grapes using the Metodo Classico technique , cultivated in a terroir with an added value: the columnar basalt, the lava rock that shapes this land, prism after prism. A dark, rocky soil that gives the wine its strength and mineral flavor.
